We've been catering for 30-years, but only in the past 4-years have we become bona-fide FULL-TIME caterers with Detroit's original Annabel Cohen at the helm.

Cooking classes and demos. 

  • By popular demand, we are now offering cooking classes and cooking demonstrations. Our "hands-on" cooking classes bring you right into our kitchen and are designed for cooks at every level — from novice to advanced.
  • You get to work side-by side with Annabel or one of our amazing instructors in an intimate setting. Or, attend one of demos where you can watch as recipes and techniques are demonstrated.
  • Most classes are one-day-only for about 2 hours (daytime or evening) and are quite intimate — limited in size — so you will truly receive the attention you need to learn and learn well. 
  • Make it party or event! Our cooking programs are designed for individuals, businesses, families and groups. Perfect for birthdays, team-building, showers, "nights out."
  • We can individualize a class for you and your group. We will collaborate with you to create the perfect private class for you and your friends or colleagues. 
  • Of course with every class and demo come tastings (or full meals) and recipes and information, so you can take your new found skills to your own kitchen.

Annabel Cohen. 


 

Annabel is a food lover and innovator. She's a writer. She's an explorer. She's a aesthete. She knows how to cook. And she'd like to cook for you and all your friends.

Until just a few years ago, Annabel only cooked for people she knows. Word-of-mouth made her one of the most popular and award-winning caterers in the  community. 

Her catering, articles, travel blogs and ANNABEL COHEN COOKS  DETROIT Facebook page have earned not just kudos, but awards as well. 

She was chosen as a Crain’s Detroit Business Magazine "Most Passionate Cooks" and has been profiled in: The Paper, HOUR Detroit, The Detroit News, The Detroit Free Press, The Big Idea, Oakland Press, Royal Oak Tribune, The Detroit Jewish News, Style Magazine, among others.

She won “Best Caterer” 2015 in The Detroit Jewish News "Best of the Best" issue and in 2014 was voted "Best Caterer" in HOUR Detroit magazine. And years ago was voted “Best Brazilian Food” by Detroit Monthly magazine. 

Among countless television and radio appearances, She's often called upon as a "lifestyle expert" to discuss any myriad of subjects. Annabel was the deciding judge on the Travel Channel’s “Food Wars” for a Detroit episode pitting rivals Lafayette Coney Island against American Coney Island.

Annabel is an author. She co-authored "America's Thanksgiving Parade Cookbook,"  "Eating for Acid Reflux" in 2003 and in 2013 created all the recipes for "Fast Diets for Dummies."  As a stylist, Annabel has worked on  photo shoots and tested and styled recipes for countless ads, articles and even a few books she didn't write.

Since we see people over and over again (most of our business is word-of-mouth), we like to "mix things up" at our events so we're never boring or expected.

Imagine the most adorable warehouse with a open kitchen and a grand piano. It's our new catering kitchen and cooking school. 

We're still putting together a schedule (I know, it's taking a while). But we are working on it.  In the meantime, if you can get 8 or more of your friends together (for a hand's on cooking class where you all wield knives yourselves) or up to 30+ for a cooking demo (you'll watch and I'll cook), we can put together a private class tailored just for you. There will be learning and food and then everybody eats. 

Perfect for private parties, girl's (or guys or both) night out, business team-building and more.

Only in the movies...

I'm happy to announce that I am part of a new restaurant concept. It's called Four Story Burger!, and is located within the Emagine Palladium Building in Birmingham. 

I'm the executive chef and it's been great developing the menu for this concept – a burger joint located within a movie theater, combining my favorite things – dinner (with really good, food (made from scratch), and a movie. And with a full bar with fun specialty drinks to boot. 

 

At Four Story Burger!, we know that the secret to cooking up a great burger is all about fresh, quality ingredients. No science fiction. Just an honest, tasty sandwich in a casual and fun environment. Located on the fourth floor of the Emagine Palladium building in downtown Birmingham, our big idea is to serve up a super-tasty piece of iconic American culture: Hamburgers & french fries with a side of cinematic history. We create a truly unique and memorable dining experience for our guests while paying homage to all of our cinematic favorites.

And if a burger isn't quite your thing, Four Story Burger! still has a sandwich for you – like The Clucking Menace, a grilled chicken sandwich topped with shaved ham, swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion and Annabel's house-made horseradish mustard; or the Sandwich From Another Dimension, a grilled veggie sandwich with eggplant, zucchini, sautéed mushrooms, onions, red peppers, baby spinach, feta cheese and a sweet red pepper aioli. All sandwiches at Four Story Burger! are crafted with locally baked breads and buns from Crispelli's Bakery and served with a side of house-made pickles.

And starting soon, Four Story Burger! will be preparing hand-formed pizzas, cooked Annabel-style in a way-cool brick oven.
